The Witch of Willow Hall by Hester Fox is a captivating historical fiction novel set in 19th century New England. It tells the story of two sisters, Lydia and Margaret, who are forced to move from their beloved home in the city to the family’s ancestral estate, Willow Hall. The novel is filled with mystery and intrigue, as the sisters uncover dark secrets that have been hidden away for generations.

The novel provides an interesting look into the lives of the upper class of the period. Through Lydia and Margaret, we see the strict social etiquette and expectations that govern their lives, as well as the consequences of breaking the rules. We also get a glimpse into the superstitions that were prevalent in the time period, as well as the fear of witchcraft and the supernatural.

The sisters’ journey to uncover the secrets of Willow Hall leads them to discover that the estate is haunted by a witch. Lydia is determined to find out why, while Margaret is content to leave it alone. The book does an excellent job of blending historical facts with the supernatural elements. I found the characters to be well-developed and the plot to be engaging.

Overall, I found The Witch of Willow Hall to be an enjoyable read. The book does a great job of blending historical facts with the supernatural, and the characters are well-developed and engaging. The story is filled with mystery and intrigue, and I found myself eagerly turning the pages to find out what would happen next. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a captivating historical fiction read.
